MCCA Reports Record-Breaking Sales in June

Sales Team has best ever contract signing month in MCCA history, booking 38 future events

Boston, MA – The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority signed 38 Event Licensing Agreements (ELA) in June alone, shattering the previous best month record of 30 events booked in December 2005.  Events signed in June 2014 are expected to generate 472,787 future hotel room nights in Boston besting the December 2007 previous high month of 435,484 room nights by 8.5%. Overall, the MCCA posted big sales numbers in Fiscal Year 2014, booking 98 future events at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC) and the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center. Today, the Boston Globe reported that attendees from two fall conventions held in Boston – The American Public Health Association (APHA) and the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) – were victims of credit card fraud. BOSTON – The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority’s board of directors today approved a major upgrade to the networks that serve the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center and the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center, making the two award-winning facilities among the fastest and most connected convention centers in the world when it comes to internet access.
