MCCA Celebrates Bike Month with Bike Cage Installation

Boston- In the spirit of Bike Month, the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) is excited to announce the installation of the all new Boston Common Garage bike cage. Set to open in early June, “The Wheelhouse” will hold a capacity of 40 bikes and be located just inside the Boston Common Garage (BCG), across from the management and public safety offices. This new public amenity will offer free short term bicycle storage 24/7 and feature a repair station complete with tire pumps and hand tools. New England International Auto Show and the Boston RV and Camping Expo at BCEC to Impact Local Traffic on January 12-16

Boston- The New England International Auto Show will be taking place from Thursday, January 12th through Monday, January 16th along with the Boston RV & Camping Expo (January 13th-16th) at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC).  These are large regional events, and most attendees are expected to drive. MCCA Makes Impactful Updates to the Boston Common Garage

Boston- The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) is pleased to announce that the Boston Common Garage (BCG) received several upgrades recently that will significantly improve the customer experience at the parking facility. The garage is now equipped with mini universal scanners designed by Parkonect, a Chicago based company that works closely with parking resellers to deliver a more convenient service. Boston, MA - The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) today announced substantial progress toward reaching profitability while reducing operating costs of Boston's most innovative outdoor space, The Lawn on D Powered by Citizens Bank. Strong attendance, food and beverage sales, and a significant increase in private event sales have dramatically improved The Lawn On D's financial performance reducing the annual deficit from $2.3 million in 2015 to just a few hundred thousand dollars in 2016 (currently projected in the $250,000-$350,000 range). Boston- After a competitive process, the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) is pleased to announce that it has selected Propark America to administer parking operations at the Boston Common Garage (BCG), and the new Lot on D located across from the popular outdoor destination, the Lawn on D Powered by Citizens Bank. Propark assumed operations of both parking facilities on August 1, 2016 under a three-year contract, with the MCCA holding two one-year options to extend. NACDS Total Store Expo Exhibitors Donate Thousands of Products through MCCA’s Conventions C.A.R.E. to Assist Boston Communities

Boston, Mass. – Exhibitors at the 2016 National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Total Store Expo donated several thousand consumer goods to be dispersed to various charitable organizations throughout the Greater Boston community. MCCA Distributes Annual Community Partnership Grants & Hospitality Scholarships

Awards luncheon recognizes 24 Greater Boston nonprofits and seven local students

Boston- The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) awarded $106,500 in community grants and $17,500 in academic scholarships to 24 Boston nonprofits and seven Massachusetts hospitality students at the Authority’s annual awards luncheon on Wednesday, June 22. The awards were distributed as part of the MCCA’s Community Partnership and Hospitality Scholarship Fund, a two-part program established and sponsored by the MCCA and former State Senator Jack Hart. MCCA’s Conventions C.A.R.E. Program donates to St. Patrick’s Church

Boston- The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority’s (MCCA) Conventions C.A.R.E. (Community Assistance by Responsible Events) program donated over 5,500 items left over from past events to St. Patrick’s Church of Roxbury as part of an ongoing effort by the state authority to help its events give back to the Boston community while minimizing their environmental impact.  The items that were donated include chairs, coffee tables, a sofa, water bottles, boxes of nails, rubber balls, lamps, and 5,200 canvas bags. Boston- The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) today announced a new five-year food and beverage service agreement for The Lawn on D Powered by Citizens Bank that will greatly expand the customer experience. The Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) today voted to appoint longtime hospitality executive, David M. Gibbons of Rockport, Mass., as its Executive Director.
