8 Clever Ways HubSpot Boosted Attendance at Its Annual Conference

INBOUND's location at the BCEC in the Seaport, a vibrant neighborhood in Boston, plays a significant role in its success. “We’ve shifted from wanting to control every space in the Seaport to embracing a SXSW-like model,” Tooley said. Rather than monopolizing venues, HubSpot encourages partners, sponsors, and even attendees to host their own events throughout the neighborhood.

This strategy creates a more dynamic experience, allowing attendees to move seamlessly from breakfast meetings to the main conference and onto networking events in the evening, Tooley noted. "The entire Seaport lights up during INBOUND," she added, resulting in what feels almost like a 24-hour event.

Interactive Kaleidoscope Garden replaces glowing swings at the Lawn on D

The glowing oval swings that graced the Lawn on D in South Boston have been replaced with an interactive vision-bending display.

Officials with the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, which operates the Lawn on D and commissioned the popular swings, said in a statement that wear and tear, and a lack of replacement swings, led to the display’s retirement.

Kaleidoscope Garden, the newly opened art installation, invites visitors to walk through a field of illuminated discs that change color with the movement of the wind and surround a mirror kaleidoscope. Sarah Brophy and Katherine Chin co-designed the exhibit in partnership with Perkins&Will, a Boston-based design studio.

“There’s nothing more rewarding to me than seeing a city-kid on a boat for the first time — smiling, confident, and amazed after catching their first fish. To keep our program running, we rely on the generosity and support of programs like the MCCA’s Community Partnership Grants. Their commitment to community programs, particularly youth programs, makes our small operation and all those smiles possible.”

From failures to belief: Oprah, Caitlin Clark share stories at Mass. women's conference

Oprah Winfrey doesn’t get imposter syndrome. But as she looked out over the crowd of more than 11,000 people, mostly women, in Boston on Thursday, she said she doesn’t think they should either.

“The reason why I have never felt like an imposter is because I am so spiritually grounded ... my being here is no accident,” she said.
