Chelsea Clinton to address conference

The American Library Association is holding its midwinter meeting and annual conference in Boston this weekend, and the bookish bunch has invited Chelsea Clinton to be the closing speaker. The former first daughter will talk to ALA executive editor Jill Santopolo on Monday at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

Among the weekend’s other presenters are authors Andre Dubus III and Nancy Pearl, filmmaker Ken Burns, creative nonfiction writers Mark Kurlansky and Terry Tempest Williams, designer Isaac Mizrahi, and New Jersey Senator Cory Booker. Clinton, who’s written a book called “It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going!,” is promising to tell the crowd what it can do to make the world a better place. We’re guessing a vote for a certain Democratic presidential candidate might be involved.
